Scottish Folds are a breed of domestic cat that has either a folded ear (ears fold forward and down) or natural looking straight ears. There is a dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout their body, causing the ears to “fold”. The breed has a rounded head and face with large round eyes which causes them to often be described as “owl-like”. The Scottish Fold/Straight breed is a medium-sized cat, with males typically weighing 9–13 lbs and females 6–9 lbs. The breed can be either long or short-haired and they can have any coat color or combination of colors you can imagine. The longer fur length is referred to as a Highland Fold/Straight. They are a very good-natured and even-tempered cat that wants to be with people. They become very attached to their owners, are very affection and are often referred to as having the personality of a dog. You will often find the breed sleeping on their backs or sitting straight up on their back legs.
